PALMA GROOVE PROJECT was formed by Orlando Lund and Sheela Gathright. PGP is a vehicle for the writing, production and performance of their own original material. Orlando and Sheela’s songs are a soulful, funky and melodic collaboration.
Orlando is linked with the famously ‚off the wall‘ soul-funk-jazz collective „The Big Cheese All Stars“, which he formed in the early 90s. They toured with the likes of Roy Ayers, Gil Scott Heron, James Brown, Fred Wesley etc. In 1995 the Big Cheese All Stars released the seminal double album „Prawns“. It is regarded as an Acid Jazz classic with a twist of PFunk and a heavy dose of Soul.
